Mrs Fraser @ work

Proprietor Helen Fraser, a former Motoring Journalist and BBC Top Gear presenter, has spent 15 years travelling the world to test drive new cars and interview racing drivers, and along the way has dined in some of the world’s finest restaurants. Like many chefs and chocolatiers, her fine palate and interest in good food has grown through her travels, and in 2002, Helen decided on a career change and completed a Diploma in Professional Cookery. Spurred on by a desire to specialise in fresh handmade chocolate, Cocoa Mama, The Dove Valley Chocolate Co. was born.

Helen studied the artisan way of creating delicious centres, using the finest quality, ethically sourced ingredients and, where possible, uses produce local to her hometown in The Dove Valley, Suffolk. She spent time working with some of the UK’s most experienced chocolate tutors learning to hand-dip fresh ganache, roll soft melting truffles and mould mouth-watering chocolate figurines.

She delights in creating new unique recipes and welcomes any suggestions you might like to try!

Cocoa Mama

About Cocoa Mama
We are a small family-led team, passionate about making chocolates the old fashioned way, entirely by hand, with local produce where possible, natural flavours and no artificial preservatives. Our chocolates are so fresh and pure they are best eaten within two weeks – if you can make them last that long.

Proprietor Helen Fraser (see profile) works tirelessly developing her own fresh truffles and pralines with flavours inspired by local Suffolk produce such as honey, raspberry, apple, lavender, dark ale and chilli. We use ethically sourced chocolate made from the finest cocoa beans and continually develop our own unique recipes, changing with the seasons.

Visit us at The Tilting Sky gift and chocolate shop, 2a Lambseth Street, Eye, Suffolk, where our handmade chocolate bars and figures are sold alongside the truffles and pralines fresh from the chiller cabinet. Please feel free to contact us regarding any special requests, but please be aware that we take a well-earned break in August when the chocolate kitchen closes and there is only a limited range of chocolates available in the shop.

We hope you enjoy discovering the true taste of our fresh chocolates.
