How we became a popular foodie destination in the Suffolk market town of Eye, offering handmade chocolates, homemade cakes, beautiful greetings cards and wonderful gifts.

In 2008 Cocoa Mama was born. It all began when Helen Fraser made the leap from journalism into a new career in the food sector, and subsequently built Cocoa Mama from humble beginnings in 2008 to a bustling chocolaterie in 2025, having been assisted in the later years by her husband, Guy Robinson.
The baton was passed to Fraser Rickman and Naomi Rickman in 2025. In a similar leap of faith from a professional and employed background, Fraser made the decision to leave his career as a lawyer to become a chocolatier and retailer, together with Naomi, just at the point their third child was due!
Helen and Guy have trained Fraser and Naomi in the artisan way of creating different chocolates, flavours and decorations, to continue bringing customers much loved recipes and indulgent confection.
The chocolaterie has been built upon a spirit of creativity in relation to flavour combinations, and championing the use of local and fresh products. Fraser and Naomi are excited to continue the rich hand made traditions of blending fresh ganaches, hand-rolling soft melting truffles, and moulding gorgeous chocolate pralines, as well as experimenting with caramel flavours.

Budding chocolatiers Fraser and Naomi took the reigns, with the shop offering a range of chocolates alongside great coffee, cakes, hot chocolate and all complemented with an amazing range of gifts in the Tilting Sky gift shop.
We blend our own recipes, combined with a skill for cocoa butter artistry, creating unparalleled fine chocolates
Our recipes include single estate chocolate, Suffolk honey, natural flavours and no artificial preservatives. Which is why they are best kept in a cool dark place and eaten within two to three weeks - if you can make them last that long!
We take great care in sourcing high quality ingredients, and we work with companies that show they care about sustainability and the conditions and welfare of cocoa farmers.
